Tirzepatide: First 2 weeks
Food and I have always had a weird relationship. I don’t like vegetables. I can force myself to eat enough of them to count, but when I’m really hungry? Be serious. I am NEVER reaching for a salad. I want whatever tastes the best, and any willpower I have disappears.
Then there’s sugar, which is a whole separate problem. I genuinely think I’m addicted to sugary snacks. Making a healthy choice usually requires an argument with myself that I don’t always win.
I started compounded tirzepatide to help me lose more weight. My doctor mentioned that it could help with inflammation, but DAMN, he wasn’t lying! Two weeks in, I’m down three pounds, and I feel great.
Not too shabby for a low dose!
Week One
Weight: 197.6
Food: Salads and protein shakes became easier to reach for
Cravings: Still there, but much quieter
Fullness: Less food needed and staying full longer
Thirst: Thirsty as hell and drinking way more water
Body: Moving easier, less pain overall, and a HUGE improvement in my neck pain
Snack obsession: Turkey cold cuts. I ate a whole pack of turkey in about three days. I would just grab a couple of slices every few hours.
Tried and rejected: Squats.
Squats are still too hard! But I hear everyone loses their asses. I already don’t have much of one. I’ve got to do something...
Week Two
Weight: 194.5
Food: Snacking throughout the day works best
Not eating enough: Nausea, shakiness, headaches, and extreme fatigue
Water: Absolutely mandatory
Sleepiness: Really, REALLY sleepy for the first two days after each injection
Sleep: Easy to fight while I’m moving, but completely OUT once I lie down
Insomnia: Better sleep overall, especially during those first two nights
Snack obsession: Extra sharp cheddar cheese. Cubes, slices, sticks... Aldi has great cheese.
Tried and rejected: Weighing every day may not be the best idea. I was up and down so much during the first couple of days this week, and I was getting discouraged. Weighing once a week is where it’s at.
